Introductory Rant
We all perceive this violent and beautiful universe inside our heads, hence the term Cranium Universe.
There is hopefully a real world that exists independently our subjective perceptions of reality. Are we capable of engaging with other minds and the bodies housing them or are we some holographic projection trapped in a vast computer simulation? I would prefer it if that was not the case.
I believe we have agency up to a point, but our fragile personal autonomy and any notion of a private life is threatened by the techno surveillance capitalism that has conquered the world in recent years. The nerdo wizards that have devised these systems now want political power to amplify their business success and help impose their creepy ideologies on the rest of us.
I don’t like the idea of a world ruled by evil billionaires whose preferred political system is a white bread fascist meritocracy. Long live socialist democracy!
In these wired and warped hypertimes the global ascendancy of my art movement, religion and political party is both imminent and necessary. It is called Simplisticism, and has only one commandment: Be Kind – to yourself, to other humans, to the animals and to the earth. Simplisticism also suggests a dialing back of the over enthusiasm that inspires some people to do violence to anyone outside of their nominated tribe and whatever warped belief system it subscribes to.
Anyway, ranting and gloomy speculations aside, I would like to invite you to have a look at this new exhibition of my particular cranium universe: the obsessions, anxieties, pleasures, observations of the landscape and aesthetic preferences that I am currently preoccupied with.
