Animals are the innocents, wild-life, to be cared for and protected by humans, although species extinction continues at a pace. Meanwhile animal-human hybrids have existed throughout history. Animals become stand-ins for people, displaying metaphorically, the very good and bad traits of human-nature, which has led to the near complete anthropomorphism of animals, particularly pets, who are experienced as possessing human qualities and characteristics. Conversely, humans described as acting like animals implies brutish and bestial behaviour which is typically seen as being savage, uncivilised and sub-human. The taxonomy of living things peaks at the animal kingdom’s, mammals, and finally, primates. Rarely is the human animal included in such a taxonomy. Animal kingdom subjects are differentiated from living things within the fungi and plant kingdoms because they can self acuate bodily movement, including complete corporeal mobilisation, seeking out self-realisation and security.
